Of Raya in Kota Tinggi...
the-reflector says:
I grew up in a small town in Johor called “Kota Tinggi”. Its a small town, located about an hour north of the state capital of Johor Baru. It’s famous for 2 things mostly, The Waterfalls, and the beach resort of Desaru. Anyways, Kota tinggi is most definately a Kampung town by my standards. We don’t have a McDonalds and while I was living there, there were no cinema’s to speak of. One had to travel to the JB for that.

The Visitor Revisits The Sixth Sense
The Visitor revisits The Sixth Sense and finds himself still in love with it:
Most people would remember The Sixth Sense as only a horror movie, but the story is much richer than that. I am intrigued by how it explores the communication breakdown between the male characters and the female characters, the loneliness of suffering alone (all the characters do), of the barriers between people and the lack of trust among them. In the end, it is a ghost story that is more human than supernatural.

The Digital Awakening Gets Bald

Peter Tan finally gets botak:
For the twenty one years since being disabled, there was never one day I did not wish I could do something more either for myself or for the people around me, especially Mum. I had taken and I have taken. For many people, their lives revolved around me. They made sure my needs and interests were well taken care of.

Malaysia warned over pirated CDs
BBC News says
Malaysia’s government has been accused of failing to act on evidence that licensed CD factories are producing pirated music, films and software.
...
Pirated discs produced in Malaysia have been found across Europe, Asia, Latin America and, most recently, in South Africa.
Yet another obligatory highlight on our country’s rampant piracy issue. This is definitely the first I’ve heard of Malaysia being a worldwide distributor for something.
But with pressure from the blood sucking entertainment industry and international media coverage, could this be the beginning of the end for our much-loved Uncle Ho?

4 Short Films By The Brits
Sebastian Ng says:
I go to the BBC Film Network from time to time to look at the short films there. Not all are good – my definition of good – but I found some that I liked. Some of them just makes me think that I’m really worthless with my ideas
Sebastian Ng is a wannabe filmmaker studying at Warwick University. Dude’s been working hard to make this feature film of his, which faces one obstacle after another. In this entry, he provides four links to some short films made in UK that are pretty good. Interesting for filmmakers and cinephiles, like me. Yeah.

Stupid Bloggers
Tilia says:
How old are we ar? How fucking lifeless and childish are we that we have to have stupid blogger communities? I used to like the idea of bloggers all knowing each other and being friends. And being able to discuss issues and having an actual network. Nice what. We all become friend, friend and get to know more intelligent young people. But bloggers dont get together and discuss important issues ok. Sometimes I look at all the stupid childish blog wars on the net. The kind of comments being written. And just, the way bloggers are conducting themselves. It’s beyond retarded.

Breaking The Blogging Hymen
Kamigoroshi got way too free and decided to surf for some blogger's virgin posts:
You know what’s more interesting that reading what bloggers are saying today? Reading what bloggers have said when they first started blogging…especially if they are bloggers of a certain reputation. Remember when we all watched young Anakin in the Episode 1 (I know it sucked but bear with me)? I don’t know about you but I sat there in the cinema thinking, “He’s going to be the end of all things for the Jedi?”.
Bet you didn't know that minishorts started blogging on Friday the 13th!

Overwhelming or is it just love?
The Scarfer tries to dissect the mystical thing called 'love' and comes up with several usable tips for the masses:
When is it love? When is it overwhelming? When do our actions, words, demands and emotions become too much for our partners to bear? When and where do we draw the line between being lovingly affectionate and just darn ole’ suffocating? When is it being trusting and when is it being taken for a ride? When is it being demanding and when is it being a doormat?
